Lura's Kitchen Madear's™ Old Fashion Premium Gourmet Southern Teacake Mix
Madear’s™ Old Fashion Premium Gourmet Southern Teacake Mix — 1.9 lb Family Size
Bring home the warmth of an authentic Southern baking tradition with Lura’s Kitchen
Madear’s™ Old Fashion Premium Gourmet Southern Teacake Mix. Inspired by generations of treasured family recipes, this generous 1.9-pound family-size mix makes it easy to bake soft, buttery teacakes filled with the comforting flavors of vanilla and nutmeg.
The mix is named in honor of founder Lura Daniels-Ball’s beloved mother, affectionately known as “Madear.” It was beside Madear that Lura first learned how simple ingredients could become something far greater—a way to celebrate, comfort and bring people together. Every package carries that lesson forward.
A Treasured Tradition, Made Easy
Southern teacakes hold a special place in Southern and African American food traditions. For generations, they have been shared at Sunday dinners, family reunions, church socials, holiday celebrations, bake sales and neighborhood gatherings. More than a cookie, the teacake is a symbol of hospitality, resourcefulness and love made visible.
Now, Madear’s™ Old Fashion Teacake Mix brings that cherished experience into today’s kitchen. Simply add butter, eggs and milk to create tender, lightly sweet teacakes with homemade flavor—whether you are an experienced baker or opening your first bag of mix.
As the teacakes bake, the inviting aroma of vanilla and nutmeg fills the kitchen, turning an ordinary day into a memory worth sharing.

Madear’s Old Fashion Teacakes
We enjoyed these teacakes. They are soft and not like a cookie. I have a friend who makes the best teacakes, and these come pretty close. Because she does not bake anymore, I purchased a second mix. They are on the verge of being too sweet for me, but I am a person that does not eat a lot of sweets. I will keep buying this mix.
